For the first time at the Olympics, a gold and silver medalist are each 13 years old.

Momiji Nishiya of Japan won gold in skateboarding’s debut at the Olympics, while Rayssa Leal of Brazil took home the silver.

Japan’s Funa Nakayama, 16, won bronze.

The two 13-year-olds shared a moment after their record-setting performance, in which Nishiya posted a final score of 15.26 to best Leal’s 14.64.

After the win, Nishiya said she is “simply delighted.” Leal now believes she can “convince all my friends to skateboard everywhere with me.”
