Just Women’s Sports is seeking an enthusiastic and driven creative individual to help lead our brand design. 

The Creative Director will lead and oversee how the JWS brand comes to life across all touchpoints, translating the brand strategy into standout creative solutions that connect with consumers to deliver upon strategic business goals. Reporting to the CEO, this hire will define the creative vision for the brand and inspire its evolution as we scale.

We’re looking for a creative visionary, someone who is passionate about how brands come to life through design, execution, and experience. With that said, this is a hands-on role suited for someone who isn’t afraid to dig into all aspects of production, inclusive of art direction, design and project management.

The output of this work brings the JWS brand to life through our website, social media, merch, sales materials, email, OOH campaigns, events, and video. The Creative Director will also be responsible for building sub-brands around our series, films, documentaries, sport and culture verticals, live events, and more. 

Managing communications and projects with partners, the Creative Director will set the visual tone for how consumers perceive our brand wherever they experience it.

What you'll do

  • Oversee all aspects of the brand including persona, identity, style and tone; guide visual design and creative that grows awareness, engagement, and loyalty to our brand.
  • Partner with channel stakeholders to ensure the visual experience in our product and overall brand strategy per audience work together cohesively and consistently.
  • Provide strategic guidance to ensure that design solutions support specific business goals.
  • Work across the organization on highly-visible integrated campaigns that span TV, digital, social and email; brand guidelines that power iterative performance marketing work; and visual content for key touch points such as our website, social accounts and press releases.
  • Communicate ideas and relevant context across the organization to create momentum and get buy-in at all levels.
  • Develop a strong roster of freelance design and production talent that can augment the team in executing work at the speed and scale required by the business.
  • Promote creative excellence and inspire the team to produce brand-defining work across all touch points.
  • Keep projects on track, expertly manage personal workflow, schedules, and deadlines.
  • Approach all projects through a strategic lens with systems-thinking and a storytelling skill set.

Who you are

  • A Design Leader with experience in creative design, concept development, and creative team leadership
  • 5+ years professional experience
  • Expert knowledge of all the latest design tools, platforms, and versions of applicable software programs 
  • Strong understanding of Brand Identity Systems, Brand Guidelines creation, Logo Design, Typography, Iconography, etc.
  • A strong understanding of current design trends as well as a keen interest in women’s sports and popular culture 
  • Excellent communication skills including ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale for client and team
  • Ability to multi-task while working independently and with a team
  • Ability to match style to specific project.
  • Experience with Digital and Streaming Platforms a plus
  • Is comfortable with ambiguity and integrating diverse skills and approaches
  • Knowledge of digital and social best practices
  • Ability to manage workflow and deadlines for multiple projects across teams
  • Experience creating integrated marketing across multiple channels from digital, social media, paid media, print, and brand experience
