Christine Sinclair recorded her 300th cap in Canada’s Olympic opener on Wednesday, becoming the fourth player in history to reach such a milestone.

The Canadian veteran made the historic occasion even sweeter by opening up scoring for the national team, driving home her 187th international goal to secure a 1-1 draw against Japan.

Sinclair reigns as the top international goal-scorer of all time, stamping her name on the scoresheet for Canada in every year since 2000.

Canada will face off against Chile in the team’s next group stage match on Saturday.
