Stosur and Shuai defeated American teens Coco Gauff and Caty McNally 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 on Sunday to clinch the duo’s second Grand Slam championship. The team previously won the 2019 Australian Open and came into the US Open fresh off of a doubles title in Cincinnati.
Neither side had dropped a set coming into the final, which amounted to a two-hour, three-set battle.
Stosur and Shuai went up a break in the decisive third set to secure the title inside Arthur Ashe Stadium.
It's Sabalenka's first title.
Instead, she'll set her sights on the doubles bracket.
Pegula is the last American woman standing.
Both lost in straight sets.
