After returning to the FA in 2019, Dawn Scott will once again depart the FA at the end of September.
She joined England after four years of working with U.S. Soccer and the USWNT, playing a large role in the 2015 and 2019 World Cup wins. Prior to that, she spent nine years as the head of sports science at FA.
Reportedly, she is leaving to pursue new opportunities in a management role “with broader leadership responsibilities overseeing a multidisciplinary team.”
“It has been a privilege to come back home and support England and Team GB over the past 20 months – the players have been brilliant to work with and I will miss those interactions,” Scott said in a statement.
In the statement, Scott revealed she plans to work with FIFA in projects “aimed at developing physical performance strategies designed specifically for women.”
“We have been enormously privileged to have had Dawn work with us for the past two years,” said FA director of women’s football Sue Campbell. “She is meticulous in her work and sets very high performance standards. Her care and concern for every player has been exceptional and we know they will miss her greatly.”
