After seemingly joking about playing for Team USA in Paris, Diana Taurasi appears to have not been joking.
The three-time WNBA champion and 10-time All-Star refused to say that she would be retiring from Team USA during the post-game press conference.
“I like Paris!” Taurasi said. “It’s one of my favorite cities.”
“Dangling that carrot,” teammate Sue Bird said. “No announcements today, folks.”
When asked more directly, Taurasi played coy and refused to rule it out.
“I mean, I love Paris,” Taurasi said. “They have beautiful buildings there and great fashion. The weather sucks, but oh well.”
“Sue’s gonna be my plus-one,” she added.
Earlier on in the press-conference, Bird confirmed that this Olympics would be her last.
