
UConn injuries: Ducharme close to return, Fudd further out
UConn has struggled with injuries all season.
The FIBA U18 Women’s Americas Championship finished group play on Wednesday, with the U.S. and Canada each leading their respective groups.
As a result, Canada will face off against El Salvador, while the United States will begin the playoffs against Mexico. Argentina will play Colombia, while Puerto Rico will battle against Brazil.
The United States won all of their games, scoring 280 total points while holding opponents to just 98 points. Canada, likewise, notched 237 points while allowing just 133 during group play and going undefeated.
Isuneh Brady led the way for the United States, notching 17 points per game. Aalyah Del Rosario, meanwhile, was lethal all over the court. Averaging 12.0 points and 12.3 rebounds per game, she is the only Team USA player to average a double-double. Cotie McMahon was right behind her with 12.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.
Jasmine Bascoe was particularly good for Canada, averaging 10 points, 6.7 rebounds and a team-leading 5.7 assists per game. T’yana Todd led the team with 16 points per game.
