Jennifer Brady joined the long list of US Open withdrawals on Monday, pulling out of the year’s final Grand Slam due to an injury.

The Australian Open finalist was a semifinalist last year in Flushing Meadows and has not played since being forced to retire in the second round in Cincinnati.

Jelena Ostapenko, the 2017 French Open Champion, also pulled out Monday for medical reasons.

Joining them just hours before her first round match was Johanna Konta. The reason for her withdrawal is unknown. The number one British player, she previously missed the Olympic Games after contracting COVID-19.
