Pittsburgh hosted the gold-medal game rematch weeks after Canada defeated the United States 3-2 in Beijing, with 5,400 fans present for the exhibition matchup.
Blayre Turnbull, Jamie Lee Rattray and Jocelyne Larocque also scored in Canada’s win, while Hilary Knight, Hayley Scamurra and Hannah Brandt notched points for the Americans during the Professional Women’s Hockey Players’ Association showcase.
“Obviously, today was special. It’s more than a winner or loser to be honest,” said Poulin. “It was more about women’s hockey and I think we made a statement today.”
