Breaking the previous high set in 2012, the Big Ten tournament brought in 42,631 fans over the entirety of the tournament. On the Big Ten Network, 268,000 viewers tuned in to watch the semifinal between Iowa and Nebraska, making it the most-watched women’s basketball game in the network’s history.
The quarterfinal matchup between Michigan and Nebraska was the second-most watched game in conference history with 238,000 viewers.
Previously, the conference announced that the entire season was the most-watched on BTN, up 41 percent from the previous record set during the 2019-20 season.
The tournament saw an average of 120,000 viewers per game, up 76 percent over the previous record set in 2017.
The final between Iowa and Nebraska, which was aired on ESPN2, amassed 493,000 total viewers. It was the second-most watched conference title game in the country this year.
