Dawn Staley’s post-championship victory tour continued Monday, with the South Carolina women’s basketball coach ringing the Philadelphia 76ers’ “Liberty Bell” ahead of the NBA team’s playoff game against the Toronto Raptors.
Staley, a Philadelphia native, also spent some time in the 76ers’ locker room hanging with NBA MVP finalist and season scoring leader Joel Embiid as he iced his feet after the game.
Since winning the NCAA championship with the Gamecocks, Staley has been on a roll. In addition to being recognized by South Carolina state lawmakers, the coach has sat courtside at a Charlotte Hornets game and appeared on “The Daily Show” with Trevor Noah.
The Gamecocks also celebrated their win with a parade last week, where the mayor of Columbia declared it national championship month.
