Baggett was injured during the Challenge Cup final on May 7. The fourth-year midfielder had to be stretchered off of the field after colliding with Courage striker Debinha.
After the injury, Baggett was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, but she was released from the hospital later that day. She “has been in concussion protocol,” the Spirit said in their announcement Wednesday, which resulted in her move to the 45-day disabled list.
In her place, midfielder/forward Marissa Sheva has been reclassified as a short-term injury replacement. She had previously signed on as a COVID-19 replacement player.
Washington’s next match comes at 8 p.m. Wednesday on the road against the Chicago Stars.
Utah will be rejoining the league.
