UConn freshman Azzi Fudd put on her best collegiate performance to date, dropping a career-high 18 points in the team’s 60-53 win over No. 23 South Florida on Sunday.

Fudd went 6-for-9 from 3 and 6-for-10 from the field, adding two rebounds and one assist off the bench.

Paige Bueckers led the charge for the Huskies, notching 21 points, seven assists and three rebounds. The sophomore helped UConn get out of a hole down the stretch after falling behind South Florida by three heading into the fourth quarter.

UConn extended the lead to seven in the game’s final minutes to pull out the win, improving to 3-0 on the season.

Fudd and Bueckers’ performance provided the first glimpse at what many UConn fans expect to be a new era in Huskies basketball.

Next up: The Huskies will face off against the winner of No. 1 South Carolina and No. 9 Oregon in the Battle 4 Atlantis final on Monday.
