The Russian Tennis Federation took home the Billie Jean King Cup for the fifth time on Saturday, downing Switzerland 2-0 in the final. Saturday’s championship marks Russia’s first title in the tournament since 2008.

Daria Kasatkina started Russia off on the front foot, cruising to a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Switzerland’s Jil Teichmann to put her side up 1-0.

Liudmila Samsonova went on to clinch the title for Russia, defeating No. 17 Belinda Bencic 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Samsonova ends her Billie Jean King Cup campaign undefeated, coming up clutch in the final and semifinals against the United States.
