Sabrina Ionescu continues to shatter records, making history once again Saturday night.

The New York Liberty guard became the first WNBA player to record 500-plus points, 200-plus rebounds and 200-plus assists in a single season after notching her 200th assist of the 2022 campaign in the opening minutes of the team’s loss to the Phoenix Mercury.

The milestone comes less than a week after Ionescu became just the fourth player in league history to record at least 16 assists in a single game, joining Courtney Vandersloot, Sue Bird and Ticha Penicheiro.

Ionescu’s 2022 campaign has been filled with record-breaking performances, including two triple-doubles.

The 24-year-old logged 31 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in the Liberty’s July 6 game against the Las Vegas Aces for the highest-scoring triple-double in WNBA history and the third of  her career, tying her with Candace Parker for the most in WNBA history.

Ionescu is averaging 17.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 6.4 assists after a rookie year that was plagued by injury and a 2021 season punctuated with flashes of brilliance but a lack of consistency.

With their 76-62 loss to Phoenix on Saturday, the Liberty (13-19) sit 1/2 game back of the Mercury in the WNBA standings with four games left to play in the regular season.
