Serena Williams is still waiting on scans of her leg injury, which she incurred during the first round of Wimbledon.

Williams flew back to the United States immediately following her withdrawal from the Grand Slam to start the rehabilitation process.

“She’s walking, which is a good sign, and it excludes very bad possibilities,” Patrick Mouratoglou, Williams’ coach, told TennisMajors.com.

The 39-year-old’s U.S. Open prospects will be contingent on her forthcoming recovery.
