Team USA’s Katie Nageotte captured Olympic gold in pole vault on Thursday.

Nageotte, who was competing in Tokyo after failing to qualify for the Rio Olympics five years earlier, beat out the ROC’s Anzhelika Sidorova for the top spot with a jump of 4.90 meters.

With her victory, Nageotte became the third American woman to earn gold in pole vault. Stacy Dragila won the event at the 2000 Sydney Games followed by Jennifer Suhr at the 2012 London Olympics.
