USC women’s basketball is up to its best ranking in 38 years following its Pac-12 tournament title win.
The Trojans are at No. 3 in the latest AP poll after topping Stanford to win their first conference tournament since 2014, which was also the team’s only other time in the title game.
It’s the highest that USC has been ranked since 1986, when the team was also third in the final poll of the season.
The Pac-12 also has three of the top six teams in the poll, and six ranked in the top 25 overall – the most of any conference.
The ACC is next with five teams, while the Big 12 has four teams ranked and the Big Ten three.
Iowa is back up to No. 2 after their Big Ten tournament win, which was the third straight conference tournament title for the Hawkeyes.
Previous No. 2 Stanford fell just two spots to fourth while Texas came in at fifth.
Notre Dame, the ACC tournament champion, rose to No. 9 in the poll while UConn came in at No. 10.
