Bio: Raised in Plano, Texas, Smith played club soccer for the Dallas Texans 94 Red Soccer Club from 2005 to 2012. As a four-year team captain, she led the team to win the Nike Cup in Portland, Oregon and the Gothia Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden. Smith was ranked fifth in college prospects across the nation by ESPNHS. In 2012, Smith attended the University of Texas where she set a new record for a Texas rookie goalkeeper for lowest goals-against average at 0.63. She won a number of accolades during her collegiate career, including Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Week, All Big-12 Conference First Team, and 2015 Senior Class Award National Finalist.
Smith was drafted by the Boston Breakers in the third round of the 2016 NWSL College Draft. After the Breakers folded in 2018, Smith was selected by the Utah Royals with the 5th pick in the Dispersal Draft. In 2019, she played for the Western Sydney Wanderers on loan from the Royals. Beyond the NWSL, Smith has represented the United States in the under-17, under-20, and under-23 national teams. In 2017, she was called up to the USWNT for friendlies against Sweden and Norway.
