Bio: Raised in Newark, New Jersey, Sykes played basketball at University High School as well as for the Philly Belles club team. Throughout high school, Sykes earned a 95 overall scouting grade and was ranked 9th out of all recruits for her position. Sykes was named a 2012 United States Under-18 National Team player and a 2012 McDonald’s All-American. During her collegiate career, Sykes played at Syracuse University where she became the winningest Syracuse Orange women’s basketball player with a total of 101 wins.

Sykes was drafted 7th overall in the 2017 WNBA Draft by the Atlanta Dream. She received WNBA All-Rookie Team honors during the 2017 season. At the end of the 2019 season, Sykes was traded to the Los Angeles Sparks. Beyond the WNBA, Sykes has also played internationally for Petah Tikva in Israel, OGM Orman in Turkey, and Spar Citylift Girona in Spain.
