Women’s Super League

Bio: Born in New South Wales, Australia, Foord first signed with the Central Coast Mariners of the W-League in 2009. When the Mariners failed to field a team in 2010, Foord switched to Sydney FC where she spent four seasons with the club and scored 10 goals in 44 appearances. For the inaugural NWSL season in 2013, Foord signed with Sky Blue FC. She helped lead the team to their only playoff appearance in club history and was named to the 2013 NWSL Second XI. Foord returned to Sydney FC in 2016 and later signed with the Portland Thorns in 2018. As of January 2020, Foord signed with Arsenal of the FA Women’s Super League.

Foord became the youngest Australian to play at the World Cup when she joined the Matildas in 2011 at the age of 16. She was given the Best Young Player award at the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup and named AFC Youth Player of the Year. In 2016, Foord was named AFC Player of the Year, becoming only the second player to win both the youth and senior player of the year awards. At the age of 25, Foord has competed in three World Cups as well as the 2016 Olympics. She was set to appear in the 2020 Olympics before they were postponed.
