Bio: Born in Mesa, Arizona, Ertz played soccer at Santa Clara University where she was a two-time Hermann Trophy semi-finalist. During her senior year of college, Ertz was named WCC Player of the Year and College Sports Madness WCC Player of the Year. She was selected third overall in the 2014 NWSL College Draft by the Chicago Red Stars. Ertz was named NWSL Rookie of the Year after the 2014 season. Throughout her time with the Red Stars, Ertz has led the team to four consecutive semi-final matches and one NWSL Championship game.

Erts has represented the United States at the under-18, under-20 and under–23 levels. She was first called up to the USWNT in 2013. Ertz has helped lead the team to victories in the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the 2016 Rio Olympics, the 2016 SheBelieves Cup, and the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
