Washington Spirit



Bio: Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Nielsen was twice-named to the All-State, All-Conference, and All-City soccer teams. She played club soccer for Toro Bravo and helped lead the team to three state championships, as well as the Midwest Regional League Championship in 2011 and the National League Red Division Championship in 2012. During her collegiate career, Nielsen attended the University of North Carolina where she helped the team win their 21st NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Championship in her freshman year.

In 2016, Nielsen was selected by the Seattle Reign in the NWSL College Draft. After being waived by the Reign in July of 2016, Nielsen signed with the Western Sydney Wanderers for the 2016-2017 W-league season. She then played with Suwon UDC in South Korea and Canberra United in Australia. In 2019, Nielsen returned to the NWSL and signed with the Washington Spirit.
