Bio: Born in Atsugi, Kanagawa, Japan, Nagasato made her club debut in the L.League for Nippon TV Beleza. While with the team, she won the league championship six times (2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008). In 2010, she signed with Turbine Potsdam in Germany where she won the Bundesliga’s leading goal-scorer award and the UEFA Champions League trophy. Nagasato has since played for the Chelsea, Wolfsburg and Frankfurt club teams. In 2017, she signed with the Chicago Red Stars of the NWSL and, in 2018, she was on loan to the Brisbane Roar for the W-League season.

Nagasato made her debut for the Japan Women’s National Football team in 2004. She was a part of Japan’s 2008 Olympic team and 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup team. Nagasato helped lead the team to victory in the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Throughout her career, Nagasato has made 132 appearances for the national team and scored 58 goals.
