UNC's season ended Saturday with a 65-57 loss to Louisville in the ACC tournament semifinals, with the defeat coming just one day after North Carolina defeated Virginia Tech 85-68 in the quarterfinals.
The Tar Heels finished 14-4 in ACC regular-season play, after facing DI basketball's 32nd-toughest schedule according to national SOS metrics. The team also posted a strong quadrant record, going 4-6 against Q1 opponents, 9-1 in Q2 matchups, and undefeated in Q3 and Q4 on a combined 13-0 mark.
Defense drove North Carolina's success throughout the season, after averaging 75.4 points per game while allowing just 59.0 points to produce a +16.5 scoring margin.
UNC also dominated the glass, averaging 39.5 rebounds per game with a +7.5 rebounding margin while forcing turnovers via 8.8 steals per game.
