After a tightly contested loss to the Las Vegas Aces, the Minnesota Lynx bounced back with a 107-74 win against the Portland Fire on Monday night.
Minnesota came out aggressive at Target Center, scoring 35 first-quarter points and never looking back. The win moves the Lynx to 11-3 on the season and 5-1 in the WNBA Commissioner's Cup standings.
Courtney Williams, Kayla McBride Power Lynx Offense
Minnesota made franchise history during the game, as seven Lynx players reached double-figure scoring.
Natasha Howard led the way with 18 points, while backcourt duo Courtney Williams and Kayla McBride controlled the pace throughout.
Williams finished with 16 points, five rebounds, and four assists. McBride added 14 points and six rebounds, stretching Portland's perimeter defense all night.
The blowout also made for a tough return for former Lynx forward Bridget Carleton.
Portland's top expansion pick managed just three points on 1-of-9 shooting against her old team. Minnesota forced 22 turnovers overall and turned them into 26 transition points to seal the win.
