A joint statement from IFAF, Nigeria's National Sports Commission, and the Nigerian Federation of American Football announced the exit on August 10th.
Officials spent roughly 10 days working with authorities before learning the visas would not arrive in time. Under competition rules, no reserve team from the 2025 African championships is allowed to slot in.
