As the WNBA Finals continue, the end of the 2021 WNBA season draws closer.
In honor of the season, one in which teams returned to a sense of normalcy after the 2020 bubble in Florida, the Just Women’s Sports team got together to make our picks for several outside-the-box categories. Introducing the inaugural JWS WNBA Superlatives:
Best jerseys: Chicago Sky
Is there a better jersey out there than the Sky’s Rebel Edition?
No seriously, we’ll wait.
Maybe it’s the design or the Candace Parker effect. Either way, the Sky are taking themselves and their jerseys home to Chicago for Game 3 of the WNBA Finals. Did we mention it’s in front of a sold-out crowd?
Most “gif-able”: Candace Parker
Shoutout to CP for always giving us the best GIFs. Her in-game reactions are about as strong as Sydney Colson’s Twitter commentary.
Speaking of …
Best in-game commentator: Sydney Colson
We don’t know what we would do without Colson’s real-time tweets. It’s like she’s reading minds or something.
Best trash talker: Diana Taurasi
I’mma let you finish … but Diana Taurasi is the greatest trash talker of all time. Period.
Don’t just take our word for it: Her peers know she is, as well.

Community hero: Elizabeth Williams
Elizabeth Williams needs no introduction. Shoutout to the Atlanta Dream veteran for making sure the WNBA’s players were 100 percent vaccinated and games went on this season without a hitch.
Best pregame fit: Didi Richards
The New York Liberty rookie showed out for the tunnel runways all year long. She takes the top spot on our pregame fit list any day of the week.
Best pregame routine: Las Vegas Aces
Normally what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Thank the basketball gods that the same wasn’t true for the Aces’ pregame routine, giving us a peek behind the locker-room curtain.
Best sneaker game: Arike Ogunbowale
The WNBA’s sneaker game is always strong. Shoutout to Ogunbowale for standing above the rest.
