Christen Press is getting a proper Los Angeles homecoming.
The USWNT forward became the first player to sign with Angel City FC after the club executed a trade with Racing Louisville on Monday.
Angel City is now pulling out all the stops for Press, a Los Angeles native, welcoming her home with a massive downtown digital billboard.

“My family and friends, they have followed me all over the world,” Press told the Los Angeles Times. “So to be able to come and play in front of them week in and week out … just to see them in the stands and know that I’ve come home, for me full circle.”
Angel City FC will join the NWSL in 2022 as an expansion club.

The defender missed the 2022 NWSL playoffs.
