No. 8 Karolina Pliskova came from behind to defeat No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 in Thursday’s semifinal contest. The match was marked by powerful hitting, with Sabalenka notching 18 aces to Pliskova’s 13.

The win advances Pliskova to her second-career Grand Slam final. The 29-year-old previously appeared in the 2016 US Open championship, losing the major title to Angelique Kerber.

Pliskova will now face off against No.1 Ash Barty in a battle of first-time Wimbledon finalists. The Grand Slam final will air on Saturday on ESPN at 9 a.m. ET.
