Nelly Korda carded back-to-back birdies to clinch the Pelican Women’s Championship in a thrilling four-way playoff on Sunday.

Korda and Lexi Thompson entered the final round as co-leaders of the tournament and stayed level for most of the day. After firing a triple bogey on the 16th hole, Korda responded with a birdie on the 18th to tie Sei Young Kim, Lydia Ko and Thompson at 17-under, forcing a playoff.

Ko and Kim’s title hopes quickly vanished as they came up short on their approach shots, leaving Thompson and Korda to battle it out. Korda recorded her second birdie on the 18th hole with a clutch putt, beating out Thompson, who missed her final shot.

“I almost kind of lost faith,” Korda said. “I just found myself probably the best putt, putted two times in a row, and rolled them in really nicely.”

The win gives Korda her fourth LPGA Tour title of the year, tying her with Jin Young Ko heading into the season finale.

Ko and Korda will face off for the final time this year in the CME Group Tour Championship beginning Thursday.
