The Portland Thorns rolled past Racing Louisville Saturday to secure a 3-0 win in Providence Park.

The Thorns started on the front foot early, scoring the game’s first goal in the 8th minute. Angela Salem got on the scoresheet for the first time since 2016, one-timing a loose ball at the top of the box to put the game at 1-0.

Portland continued to pressure Racing Louisville, controlling the majority of possession and dictating the match’s pace.

The game’s next goal came in the 48th minute, when Rocky Rodriguez got on the end of a perfectly placed cross from Lindsey Horan, doubling Portland’s lead.

After suffering a handful of narrow misses throughout the game, Horan finally got a goal of her own in the 77th minute. Standing just outside the box, Horan sent a looping ball into the far post that bounced past Michelle Betos, tucking into the right corner of the net.

The 3-0 scoreline persisted until the end of 90 minutes, earning Portland their second-consecutive win of the season.

The Thorns will stay at home to host Kansas City at Providence Park on June 20. Racing Louisville will head home to face Houston Dash on June 20 as well.
