The PWHPA’s Secret Dream Gap Tour is heading to Canada.

After a three-stop tour in the U.S. that will conclude May 16-17, the PWHPA has announced that the Canadian leg of the tour will take place from May 24-30 in partnership with the Calgary Flames.

Three teams will face off to become the first-ever Canadian Secret Cup champion: Team Scotiabank (Calgary), Team Sonnet (Toronto) and Team Bauer (Montreal). There will be six games in total, with each team playing every other twice for a total of four games each.

The top two teams at the end will battle it out in the championship.

The tour comes as part of the $1 million commitment Secret made to the PWHPA last fall, helping to ensure that the players “are given adequate access to training and opportunities to compete at an elite level.”

Secret Deodorant is teaming up with Sportsnet to deliver coverage of the Canadian leg across Sportsnet’s national TV networks on May 28, 29 and 30. Games from May 24-27 will be streamed live on Sportsnet’s streaming platform, SN NOW. Additionally, Secret Deodorant and Sportsnet will collaborate to produce a content series featuring Erin Ambrose, Melodie Daoust, Brigette Lacquette and Sarah Nurse that will air nationally on Sportsnet’s “Hockey Night in Canada.”

The partnership with Sportsnet is also meant to increase the visibility of the athletes, “providing them an opportunity to showcase their talent, share their stories and grow their fanbase.” Additional income and exposure will be provided to players through social partnerships.

“We’re excited to partner with these great organizations and give Canadians coast-to-coast the chance to watch these games and support these incredible athletes,” PWHPA operations consultant Jayna Hefford said in the press release. “Secret has been a catalyst for change at the PWHPA and has helped us take many incredible leaps forward in women’s professional hockey. With the additional support of Sportsnet and its unparalleled national reach, we are thrilled to offer these athletes the platform they deserve and show the country why they are worth cheering for.”
