The 2023 WNBA playoffs are well underway, with the semifinals tipping off Sunday. Who will take home the WNBA championship?
The Las Vegas Aces locked down the No. 1 seed for the second consecutive season and dominated the Chicago Sky in the first round to begin their title defense. The first round featured four best-of-three series, with the higher seed in each series hosting Games 1 and 2, and then the lower seed hosting Game 3 if necessary. The only first-round series to go the distance was Connecticut vs. Minnesota, with the Sun defeating the Lynx on the road to advance.
The Aces are looking to become the first team to win back-to-back titles since the Los Angeles Sparks in 2001 and 2002. But the New York Liberty could disrupt their plans, having entered the playoffs with a 3-2 advantage in the season series against Las Vegas. Both teams are clear favorites to reach the WNBA Finals.
