Top WNBA Standings Spot on the Line in Fever vs Lynx
Minnesota (31-9) lead the WNBA standings, two games ahead of the Golden State Valkyries. The Lynx need just two more wins to clinch the No. 1 seed and home-court advantage through the postseason. But Indiana could stand in their way.
The Fever (26-14) leads every team in scoring with an average 97 points per game. Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell combined for 68 points in Indiana's final outing before the FIBA World Cup break.
On the other side, Minnesota is managing its own hurdles.
The Lynx lost two games in a row before play paused for the international tournament. Meanwhile, Napheesa Collier continues her return from offseason ankle surgeries while several Lynx players logged time with their national teams during the break. That means Minnesota might not be as refreshed as other teams when regular season play picks back up.
If the Fever take both games, the Valkyries could leapfrog Minnesota for the top seed.
