Las Vegas’ 96-93 victory over Washington came down to the wire Saturday afternoon.
A late 13-0 run by the Mystics in the fourth quarter tied the game at 90 with a minute left on the clock. After the Aces extended the lead to four in the game’s final moments, Ariel Atkins drained a clutch three to cut the difference to one with three seconds left to play.

A’ja Wilson closed out the game for the Aces, making both her free throws after being sent by to the line by the Mystics. Wilson then blocked Washington’s final inbound pass to ensure Las Vegas the victory.
The 2020 MVP recorded her third double-double of the season Saturday afternoon with 15 points and 15 rebounds.

Liz Cambage collected 11 rebounds and led scoring for the Aces with 24 points. Jackie Young and Riquna Williams added 22 and 20 points each to round out the Aces’ offense.

The Mystics kept the game close in all four quarters, thanks in large part to Myisha Hines-Allen’s extraordinary performance. Hines-Allen shot 57.9 percent from the field, scoring 32 points and gathering 13 rebounds for a massive double-double. Ariel Atkins added 29 points and four assists to Washington’s tally.

Saturday’s victory improves the Aces to 7-3 on the season, while the Mystics fall to 2-5. Las Vegas will have a long break before they face the Dallas Wings on June 13 at home. The Mystics will host the Lynx in Washington on Tuesday.
