The 25-year-old Australian is now just one win away from making history on the 50th anniversary of her countrywoman Evonne Goolagong’s first Wimbledon title.
“I’m incredibly proud of myself and my team, and now we get a chance on Saturday to try and live out a childhood dream,” Barty said after Thursday’s semifinal match.
Barty will face No. 8 Karolina Pliskova, who defeated No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka in a three-set semifinal, in Saturday’s championship.
