The 25-year-old Australian defeated Karolina Pliskova 6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-3 on Centre Court in a final of firsts. Saturday marked the Wimbledon championship debut for both Barty and Pliskova.
Barty’s Wimbledon win is her second Grand Slam title. The world No. 1 won the French Open in 2019.
