Ashlyn Harris responded to the Washington Spirit on Twitter after the club published a GIF of Ashley Sanchez putting Gotham FC defender Ali Krieger on skates. The team captioned the video published on Saturday, “Hey Gotham FC, too soon?”
Harris took the call-out as an opportunity to address the Spirit’s field conditions, replying to the video, “Get us a professional field and then we can talk. Until then take your amateur s–t back to your high school field.”

The Spirit hosted Gotham FC on Friday night at Segra Field, a soccer-specific stadium that has artificial turf rather than grass.
Washington’s Trinity Rodman got in on the Twitter discourse.
“I didn’t see anyone else fallin like that?” the reigning Rookie of the Year wrote in response to Harris’ complaint. “(You) can accept her ankles got broke.”
The online dispute comes after the Spirit and Gotham FC played to a thrilling 1-1 draw in the group stage of the NWSL Challenge Cup. The teams meet again at Red Bull Arena in New Jersey on April 17.
