Athletes Unlimited Volleyball held its inaugural draft on Friday night, selecting nine college athletes to join the league for its second season in 2022.

AVCA National Player of the Year Dana Rettke headlines the group after a decorated career at Wisconsin that included a record-setting .419 career hitting percentage. Before officially joining AU, the senior will look to lead the Badgers to a national championship in the NCAA Tournament final against Nebraska on Saturday.

UCLA’s Mac May was also invited to join Athletes Unlimited for the second season. The outside hitter finished her career as the only player in Bruins history to lead the team in kills in all four seasons.

Stephanie Samedy of Minnesota, Lauren Stivrins of Nebraska, Yossiana Pressley of Baylor, Avery Skinner of Baylor, Dani Drews of Utah, Brionne Butler of Texas and Anna Stevenson of Louisville round out the rest of AU’s draftees.

The league’s second season begins in March, kicking off a five-week competition set in Dallas.
