Interim head coach Becky Burleigh will not continue with the Orlando Pride, the club announced Wednesday.

Burleigh, who was appointed as acting manager on July 25 following the departure of Marc Skinner to Manchester United, withdrew her name from consideration for the position. As a result, her final game with the Pride will be on Friday when the Pride host the Chicago Red Stars.

“What an amazing opportunity it was to spend this time as a member of the Orlando Pride,” Burleigh said in a release. “I want to thank the players and the staff for the growth I’ve experienced and I will always be a huge Pride fan. I look forward to aiding in the transition to a new era of Pride soccer.”

“We are grateful to Coach Burleigh for stepping into this role and for guiding the Pride with the utmost professionalism,” said Orlando Pride chairman Mark Wilf. “We appreciate Becky’s leadership over the past three months and we wish her the best in the future.”

The club is still searching for its next head coach.
