Seattle Storm forward Breanna Stewart exited Tuesday’s 105-71 win over the Washington Mystics with a left foot injury and did not return.
Midway through the third quarter, Stewart limped off the court in pain following a little to no-contact play. None of the Seattle starters on the court saw the play. Guard Sue Bird, however, who saw Stewart’s face following the play, said she saw “an ‘uh-oh’ look.”
While Stewart was not walking with a noticeable limp following the game, Storm coach Noelle Quinn said the team was “waiting to get further evaluation.”
The 2019 WNBA MVP, Stewart is once again in the conversation to win the award. She entered Tuesday tied for second in the WNBA in scoring with 20.7 points per game and third with 9.9 rebounds per game.
The Storm, who have already clinched a playoff spot, next play Sunday in Los Angeles against the Sparks.
