Brittney Griner helped the Mercury end a two-game skid Wednesday night with a standout performance in a 99-90 overtime win over the Aces.
Griner led all scorers with 33 points and 10 rebounds, marking her second 30-point game of the season. With the win, the Mercury dashed the Aces’ four-game winning streak, helping catapult the Storm back into the No. 1 spot in the WNBA standings.
It’s just the sixth game in WNBA history in which a player has scored 33-plus points, 10-plus rebounds, five-plus assists and two-plus blocks.
Griner’s performance was her ninth double-double of the season, giving her 50 for her career and making her the Mercury’s franchise leader in that category.
