The Los Angeles Sparks held off the New York Liberty, 86-83, on Sunday to win their fourth straight.

The game came down to the final possession, with Sparks guard Brittney Sykes blocking Sabrina Ionescu’s last-ditch effort from just inside the half-court line.

Erica Wheeler led the Sparks with 17 points, five assists, four rebounds and one steal.

Nneka Ogwumike and Kristi Toliver each added 16 points, with Ogwumike also notching six assists, five boards and three steals to help Los Angeles down the stretch. The Sparks forward, who missed over a month of the season with a knee injury, has scored in double digits in each of the Sparks’ four games since the Olympic break.

The Sparks (10-13) have inched up the WNBA standings in the last week. Now in eighth place, Los Angeles is back in the playoff race.

Next up: The Sparks will look to extend their win streak when they face the Washington Mystics on Tuesday. The Liberty will take on the Phoenix Mercury on Wednesday.
