The UEFA Women’s Champions League released the draw for the group stage on Monday, with Chelsea and Arsenal facing tough competition early in the 2021-22 season.

This is the first time the Women’s Champions League competition has used the group-stage format. Arsenal will meet defending champion Barcelona in Group C along with Hoffenheim and HB Koge.

Chelsea, who fell to Barcelona 4-0 in the Champions League final last season, will face two-time champion Wolfsburg, Juventus and Servette FC in Group A.

Two-time runner up Paris Saint-Germain headlines Group B, while Olympique Lyonnais will look to reclaim the top spot starting in Group D. Lyon, who has won a record eight Champions League titles, had its five-year reign end last season.

The top two teams in each group will advance to the quarterfinals in March.
