With a time of 13 seconds flat, Xia broke the world record previously held by Australia’s Isis Holt since 2017. Holt took silver in a time of 13.13 while Maria Lyle of Britain claimed bronze.
With the win, Xia is now a three-time Paralympic medalist, having won gold in both the 100m T35 and 200m T35 events at the 2016 Rio Paralympics.
