Top tennis stars — including world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and No. 7 Coco Gauff — released a statement this week confirming they’ll conduct normal media duties in London after after threatening to repeat last month’s French Open boycott.
The decision came after the All England Club committed to return specific proposals addressing the players’ previous concerns.
The proposals included increasing the revenue share, improving benefits, and upping player involvement in key business decisions in an effort to level the playing field for lower-ranked competitors.
“It’s not about me,” US standout Coco Gauff said last month.
“It’s about the future of our sport and the current players who aren’t getting as much benefits as even some of the top players are getting.”
