Coco Gauff has punched her ticket to the 2026 Cincinnati Open quarterfinals, winning Wednesday's match against Marie Bouzková 6-3, 6-2 in just over 90 minutes.
Coco Gauff Goes on the Attack Against Marie Bouzková
The No. 4 seed dictated play early with aggressive shot selection and a willingness to charge the net. She finished with 30 winners and five aces while converting three break-point chances. Even more telling, she saved all eight break points she faced across both sets.
"I was being really aggressive and going for my shots, coming forward, not giving her an opportunity to counterpunch," Gauff said after the win.
Bouzková, meanwhile, struggled on her second serve, winning just 35% of those points. The Czech star pushed longer rallies early in the second set, but Gauff adjusted her backhand approach and pulled clear.

At 22, Gauff becomes just the third player to reach a quarterfinal before turning 23. She joins Linda Tuero and Sania Mirza on that list. It also marks her second career win over Bouzková in four WTA meetings.
Next, she faces No. 10 seed Marta Kostyuk, who rallied from a set down to beat Mirra Andreeva. Gauff leads that head-to-head 3-2, though Kostyuk won their most recent meeting.
