Coco Gauff’s Wimbledon run is over.
Former Wimbledon champion Angelique Kerber defeated the 17-year-old 6-4, 6-4 on Centre Court to end Gauff’s run in the fourth round on Monday.
Kerber sealed the victory in the second set with an ace to move on to the fifth round.

The loss was Gauff’s second in the fourth round at Wimbledon. Her last came in 2019, when she made a run at the tournament that put the tennis world on notice.
Kerber, who won Wimbledon in 2018, is the only former champion left in the women’s draw after a series of upsets saw six of the top ten players exit Wimbledon, including Serena Williams with an injury.
Top-ranked Ash Barty also remains after ending Barbora Krejcikova’s 15-match winning streak Monday.
