South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley is continuing her victory tour, as she appeared on “The Daily Show” with Trevor Noah on Tuesday.

Staley told Noah that her second time winning the national championship was even sweeter than the first.

“Only because the first time that we won, we didn’t play against UConn,” she said. “And UConn is considered the very best. This year we got a chance to play them and it felt great beating them.”

When asked about her coaching style, Staley said it’s similar to training her dog, Champ.

“You have to flow with what’s happening,” she said. “There are highs and lows. Like if one of our players does something that’s terrible, I’m gonna say ‘that’s terrible. Like, that’s really terrible.’ But if they do something great, I’m chest bumping, I’m pumping fists. I give it the emotion that’s needed.”

She also spoke with Noah about fighting for equal pay with her contract and her plans to distribute the 2022 championship net before Noah finished off her segment telling people to listen to “Netlife,” Staley’s podcast with Just Women’s Sports.
